Szentendre’s mobile flood protection wall is the country’s first fully functional mobile barrier with fixed foundations and column‑anchored panels, designed specifically to protect the historic town centre. The system proved itself for the first time in a real emergency in 2013, successfully holding back the highest Danube flood ever recorded.
