A section of Magtár Street in Cinkota may be enriched with a bicycle path, sidewalk, and crossings.
The section of the district close to the M0 motorway is undergoing a complete renovation. Magtár Street will be renewed between Budapest Road and Barátság Road in 200 days.
The current 5.5-meter structure of the nearly one-kilometer road will be expanded to 9 meters wide after complete dismantling. The road will receive a new surface, and bicycle lanes will be created on both sides. A curb and sidewalk will be built along its entire length, and 4 crossings and several driveways will also be established. The work will also include certain gardening and plant care tasks.
To ensure the sustainability of transportation, the project will be implemented in several phases. Each sub-phase (dismantling, earth excavation, foundation work, etc.) will last 30-35 days.
The last phase of the renovation work will affect the HÉV underpass. The junction work can only be carried out with a complete road closure, so this phase will be executed as quickly as possible, ideally within 10 days.
The project is expected to be completed by the end of September.
